Abstract
- The article presents a study which aims to examine the potential effects of the updated guidelines on pap test screening on the timing of the treatment and diagnosis of adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) of the cervix. The study involves the identification of patients with diagnosed AIS between 1998 and 2010 with the use of the International Classification of Disease, 9th Revision. Results conclude that updated screening guidelines can prevent efficient diagnosis of AIS in females below 21 years old.
