Abstract

The article discusses plans by Texas lawmakers to change high school graduation requirements by removing courses and examinations. The argument that the changes may allow the modernization of curricula in order to make graduates more employable is examined, and the counterargument that they will do a disservice to at-risk students is also commented on.
