Abstract

Strikingly dissimilar hydrogen-bonding patterns have been observed for two sets of closely similar hetero foldamers containing carboxamide and sulfonamides at regular intervals. Although both foldamers maintain conformational ordering, the hydrogen-bonding pattern and backbone helical handedness differ diametrically. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
