Synthesis and Functionalization of [60]Fullerene-Fused Imidazolines.

The silver carbonate promoted reaction of [60]fullerene with (Z)-N-arylbenzamidines afforded the unprecedented C60-fused imidazoline derivatives in high yields. Substrates with both electron-donating and -withdrawing groups on aromatic rings could be employed.
