Can a nomogram predict death in patients with thyroid cancer?

The article discusses the study by L. Yang and colleagues on the use of the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) program in developing a nomogram in predicting the probability of death in thyroid cancer patients. It says that the involvement of lymph nodes in thyroid cancer can affect mortality. It adds that the nomogram can only supplement the existing prognostic systems for cancer.
