CEDARS OF LEBANON: Exploring the Roots.

Abstract

The article focuses on the importance of the Cedars of Lebanon to ancient Israel and neighboring countries due to lack of natural resources. The article discusses the mention and use of cedars in the Bible, the excavation of cedar logs in a Philistine temple at Tell Qasile in Tel Aviv, Israel and the Egyptian ship of Cheops which was excavated at Giza, Egypt and is made of cedar. The article goes on to discuss the role of cedar in ship construction as evidenced by excavated shipwrecks.
