The sea represents the source of health, economics and national safety to each and every country that has good fortune to be surrounded by it, and that has the possibility of exploitation. Nowadays, however, the sea is burdened with growing maritime traffic. Sea-ships are very important for the growth of global economy and traffic integration of the countries. What is more, they have many other advantages. Nowdays when ecology and environmental control are very current issues, the ship is put in the centre of interest being the source of contamination of the sea. Especially great threat comes from the oil tankers. It is a fact that if such an accident happens there would be fatal consequences for the sea and its environment. Thus, it is necessary to develop measures for affirmation of ecological politics in the shipping industry.
