Abstract

The author, as assistant biology professor from Yale University, discusses studying science in Puerto Rico by reading essays by authors such as Isaac Asimov and Carl Sagan that were translated into Spanish, and remarks on the importance of science reporting for lay public. Scientific argumentation is discussed, as well as the author's essay writing process, comparisons between writing and teaching, and the psychological aspects of writing for the public.
