Abstract

The article reports a study which investigated masculinity, gender role beliefs, and HIV risk among homeless men who have sex with women (MSW) in Skid Row area of Los Angeles, California. The results revealed that relationship barriers with women and ideals of masculinity were some of the factors associated with high-risk behaviors among homeless men. The study highlights the need for interventions to spread awareness on high-risk sexual behaviors among homeless men to prevent the spread of HIV.
