Sustainable Development -- The Chinese People's Choice.

The article discusses the decision of China to transform its model for economic growth to achieve sustainable development. An overview of China's economic growth since the country established a market economy is provided, including its 2012 gross domestic product (GDP) second in the world only to the U.S. A discussion of the market-based system of the country which led to its economic development is given. China is predicted to maintain economic growth rate of 7 to 8 percent.
