Abstract

Discusses the possibility of the formation of spherule layers in Australia and South Africa simultaneously by a single impact billions of years ago. Significance of the size and abundance of the spherules to the theory that they are part of a layer that was dispersed globally; Support provided by the presence of two identical populations of zircons in both regions on the separation distance between the two cratons at the time of impact.
