Abstract

Presents a study that investigated the use of partial discharge as a means to study the development of leakage current on silicone rubber insulators. Methodology; Correlation between electrical stress and leakage current and partial discharge; Evaluation of the changes on the insulator surface and the observed transition from corona from water droplets to dry-band arcing during the experiment.
