Construcción narrativa e identidad gráfica en el cómic autobiográfico: retratos del artista como joven dibujante.

This paper aims to study the different ways of self-representation that have been used by comic creators through the analysis of Art Spiegelman's Portrait of an Artist as a Young %@&*!, where he offers an extensive range of possibilities of self-portraits based on a fragmented narrative structure. This fragmentation allows new ways of autobiographical expression through the use of a specific artistic language which is the comic. We can gather from that not only narrative poetics but interesting insights on selfportrait and the graphic representation of the self. Spiegelman's Portrait is as much a memory act as an intertextual exercise with his own work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
