Abstract
- The author points out that traditional media in South Korea should find ways to convince people that watchdog reporting is worth watching. She describes the investigation she and her colleagues at Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) did to produce a story about violence in the conscripted police. An overview of news censorship in South Korea under the military-influenced governments of the 1970s and 1980s is provided.
