Aged parents’ experiences during a critical illness trajectory and after the death of an adult child: A review of the literature.

The article presents a literature review aimed at exploring the experiences of aged parents during a critical illness trajectory and after the death of an adult child, published in 2013. Literature searches were conducted on seven electronic databases in December 2011, including Medline, Web of Science and Google Scholar. The studies reviewed suggest that older parents carry burdens from the prospect of losing their adult child.
