Abstract
- In this paper, an accelerometer mathematical model is developed and simulated to choose the best damping rate value to limit the measurement error to 1%. Using this model, the equations of relative movement modulus and measurement error with respect to damping rate and frequency ratio can be determined. The developed model is validated by a series of tests carried out by computer simulation. The obtained results have shown that a suitable damping rate can minimize the measurement error of relative movement to 1 %. The presented model is a useful tool to improve the damping rate and measurement precision of the accelerometer. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
