Nowe badania, nowe wyzwania - sesje Hot-line na Kongresie ESC 2012 w Monachium.

The article is a subjective choice of studies presented during Hot-line sessions of the 60th congress of the ESC (European Society of Cardiology) in Munich. Trials and registers selected to prestigious debates were moslty concentrated on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of different forms of coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease and chronic heart failure. Many of them were thematical-ly connected with the guidelines issued this year by the ESC. The authors would like to focus on studies and registers which in their opinion will impact future recommendations in cardiology and could inspire new directions in research like PURE, FAST-MI, CORE 320, FAME 2, IABP-SHOCKII, PROTECT, TRILOGY ACS, WOEST, PRAGUE-12, GARY, PARAMOUNT, ALDO-DHF, ALTITUDE.
