Abstract

Highlights: [•] xtMC2R and acMC2R can be functionally expressed in CHO cells if a tetrapod MRAP1 ortholog is co-expressed. [•] Alanine substitution at any position in the H6F7R8W9 motif of ACTH(1–24) will block the activation of either xtMC2R or acMC2R. [•] The 2° structure of the G10K11P12V13G14 motif in ACTH(1–24) is important for the activation of xtMC2R and acMC2R. [•] Alanine substitution at either the K15K16 or the R17R18P19 motif in ACTH(1–24) disrupts activation of xtMC2R or acMC2R. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
