Abstract
- Highlights: [•] We add morphological information of antennal and palpal sensilla of an aquatic predator to those of non-predaceous species in the superfamily Muscoidea. [•] The function of coeloconic sensilla in flies as thermo- or hygroreception and acute vision of predator could account for their absence in the predator, Lispe neimongola. [•] The greater number of basiconic sensilla on the enlarged spoon-like maxillary palps of Lispe neimongola may promise sharper sensitivity for the lifestyle of predator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
