The article analyzes the concepts, modes, and ideas of animality in the novels of Sergio Chejfec that contributes, tentatively yet reflexively, to the discussion regarding contemporary art and literature, the crisis of cultural fields, the changes in the status of representation, and the place of fiction. Thus, more than a rereading of Chejfec's work, the article is an examination of the current state of the discussion on literature, on the basis of his work and from the perspective of animality.
