Highlights: [•] Spins are not directly observable, only the magnetic moment. [•] Magnetic moment behaves differently than spin with g-anisotropy. [•] Bloch-like equations for the magnetic moment with g anisotropy are derived. [•] The length of the magnetic moment oscillates to obey conservation of energy.
