Abstract

Highlights: [•] The 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 13/2 transition of Nd:La0.11Y0.89VO4 was investigated for first time. [•] The fluorescence peak of crystal exhibited obvious inhomogeneous broadening. [•] Continuous-wave and active Q-switched laser operations were realized. [•] The relationship of absorbed pump power and output power was depicted.
