This article gives a brief introduction to the patent system in general in order to develop, after an explanation of the different positions of the patent system: In one hand, who oppose the patent system and the compulsory licensing in the pharmaceutical industry, and in the other hand who encourage the system because, for them no protection will violate the right of property of the invention owner who made big investments and studies in research and development.
