Abstract

Highlights: [•] Surface oxidation of chalcocite can be enhanced by low-temperature-plasmas. [•] The oxidation leads to sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission. [•] A delay time between plasma ignition and (SO2) emission depends on plasma parameters. [•] Differences in reaction rates might lead to selective surface modifications.
