Abstract

The article discusses about the diagnosis of renal and adrenal masses. It states that these masses are commonly found in kidneys and approximately one third of people age 50 and older will have at least one renal cyst on computed tomography (CT), which according to the American College of Radiology is the most reliable study to evaluate these masses. It also mentions some imaging options such as the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET).
