Abstract
- The author comments on a study published within the issue that examined the employment situation for adults with autism in the U.S. and compared their job prospects with those of people with other disability types. The researchers found that prospects for young people with autism leaving school are extremely poor. It is asserted that the lack of employment opportunities for young adults with autism puts them at risk for social exclusion, financial difficulty and decreased quality of life.
