Abstract

The article focuses on Real Pickles, a worker-owned cooperative, in Greenfield, Massachusetts. A background is provided highlighting the objectives of Dan Rosenberg and Addie Holland when they founded the company in 2001. The operations of the company is described with emphasis on its use of local organic sources and its production process for its naturally fermented food products. The advantages of the worker-owners concept are discussed along with the fund raising process for the purchase.
