Abstract

The article discusses the use of multivalent surfactant as a capping agent for the synthesis of zeolite nanocrystal. It states that the surfactant prevents crystal growth by covering nanoparticle surfaces through coordination bonding, hydrogen bonding, and electrostatic attraction or using weak van der Waals interaction to the surface atoms. It mentions that the multivalent surfactant capping could be applicable to nanomaterials including metals, chalcogenides, and metal oxides.
