Process of informatization of companies as well as common use of IT tools at work does not progress equally fast for all industries. In polish economy can be found branches, where introduction of modern IT services is very much postponed or has just begun. Many complicated operations are still handled manually, what in some cases due to lack of new technologies can lead to ecological and financial problems. Deficiencies of modern IT solutions come often from the high complexity of needed tools, high cost of design and introduction and because of the obsolete for the most part infrastructure. One of the branches that has that problem is water management, which in this article will be presented as the process of water production and distribution through the waterworks network. Author of this article will present a conception of Spatial Decision Support System designed to aid waterworks company and monitor whole water distribution infrastructure. Creation and implementation of proposed IT system will allow the waterworks company depreciation of water production costs and infrastructure service costs. It will also improve reaction time in case of failure of any part of the network, which is very important due to the additional costs that end users will have to pay. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
