In the paper a concept of an e-guide content sharing system is presented that allows museums in distant locations to jointly develop and share content for electronic guides. The system is characterized by an advanced resource access rights control mechanism, free content organisation by end-users, describing stored resources with semantic tags, and multiple grouping of resources. Although the presented concept was conceived in the context of its future implementation in oceanographic museums, it can as well be used as a model for similar systems intended for any type of institution that uses e-guides.
