Abstract

The article focuses on a report from the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) which reveals that Canadians want the federal government to be more involved in the reduction of poverty and other social barriers to health. The report also found that Canadians want the federal government not to ignore its obligation to provide adequate housing, nutrition and proper early childhood development for all Canadians. The CMA report reveals that one in seven Canadian children lives in poverty.
