Abstract

The article reports that in September 2013 the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) ended its investigation into alleged manipulation of the silver market during 2008 without filing charges. The probe focused on allegations that banking company J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. had been involved in manipulation. CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton expressed frustration over the outcome.
