Abstract
- Highlights: [•] Two NIRS calibration models were developed to estimate the accuracy of age and age structure determination in Drosophila. [•] The composite calibration model was generated by including flies reared under all temperatures and diets. [•] The composite calibration model able to determine flies as less than or equal to 9days, or more than 9days old with 85–97% and 64–99% accuracy, respectively. [•] The simplified calibration models were generated by including flies reared at 23°C on standard diet. [•] Low accuracy rates were observed in simplified calibration models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
