Abstract

Currently, fundamentals and technical utilization of multi-component solvent systems with tunable properties are investigated within the collaborative research center 'InPROMPT'︁ (integrated chemical processes in liquid multiphase systems). The systems are applied here for the use of long-chained olefins as well as unsaturated oleo chemicals in chemical production processes. Therefore, new methods of process development, chemical reaction control and the description of material properties are developed. In addition, integrated reaction and separation steps together with hybrid separations are investigated. Based on this knowledge the optimal design of technical processes for the conversion of long-chained nonpolar and polar components can be performed. The hydroformylation of 1-dodecene is investigated as a model reaction. Key concepts and exemplary results are presented in this article. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
