Abstract
- The article features Ben Lashes, once a front man for the band the Lashes, who is now a meme manager, responsible for taking Grumpy Cat, one of the Internet's most popular viral characters, from a single web link to a seven-figure franchise. Lashes is responsible for getting rights for a live-action cat movie, making Grumpy Cat a spokescat for Friskies, launching of a book, and selling over 100,000 T-shirts and 35,000 Christmas cards. Grumppuccino coffee will soon be available in groceries.
