Luta pela terra e disputas territoriais na região da campanha gaúcha: o processo de formação do assentamento Conquista do Caiboaté em São Gabriel - RS.

The struggle for land is one of the processes inherent to the contradictions existing in the Brazilian agrarian matter, front of the inequalities arising from the capitalist development. Thus, this study aims to reveal how this struggle it is configured as an agent that can perform spatial transformations through of the territorial disputes, especially through the leadership of social movements like the Movement of Landless Workers (MST). It has therefore established as space - time the formation process of the settlement Conquista do Caiboaté in the municipality of São Gabriel, located in Rio Grande do Sul, in the period of 2003 to 2009. Adopts as theoretic-methodological assumptions the scientific and philosophical vision of all is in motion, in unity and contradiction, in transformation process, and with the use of distinct and additional procedures attempts to learn some elements that make up the essence of the multiple dimensions that exist in the process of reconstruction of rural areas from the struggle for land. Whose expressions are present mainly through repossession of the social agents, a process that has provided the economic-social, politic-ideological and symbolic-cultural reconstruction of the territory.
