Abstract
- The article discusses the "March Against Illiteracy," a children's reading program started by Janet E. Grojean, the owner and manager of the Little Professor Book Center in LaVista, Nebraska, in 1990. Children who participated read books and had their name added to a paper chain on display around her store. The article presents details of the project, as well as other reading and literacy efforts around the country.
