Abstract
- The complex [bipy(OH)2]Re(I)(CO)3Cl with bipy(OH)2=3,3′-dihydroxy-2,2′-bipyridine has been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, ESI MS and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The complex shows a yellow emission at λmax=582 nm which originates from the lowest-energy bipy(OH)2 intraligand (IL) triplet. The compound undergoes a reversible deprotonation to [(bipyO2)Re(I)(CO)3Cl]2− which is not luminescent under ambient conditions. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
