Abstract

By using an organic ligand, a new inorganic–organic hybrid compound of cobalt oxalate-vanadate, <f>{[H2(en)]Co2(ox)(V4O12)}n</f> 1, where en = ethylenediamine, ox = oxalic acid, has been synthesized hydrothermally from <f>V2O5,CoCl2·6H2O,H2C2O4·2H2O</f> and en. Crystal data 1, orthorhombic, Cmcm space group, <f>a=11.624(2)</f>, <f>b=9.968(2)</f>, <f>c=14.900(3)</f> A˚, <f>R1=0.0298</f>, <f>wR2=0.1172</f>. Compound 1 possesses a three-dimensional open-framework with <f>β</f>-cage and is an antiferromagnetic matter. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
