Abstract
- Highlights: [•] We examined cochlea K+ recycling-related proteins after acute energy failure. [•] Connexin 26 increased and Na,K-ATPase and NKCC1 disappeared in the spiral ligament. [•] Kir4.1 and L-PGDS decreased in the stria vascularis. [•] NKCC1 and connexin 26 were present in the center of the limbus despite nuclei loss. [ • ] Fibrocyte changes may compensate damaged K+ recycling and preserve ATP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
