Abstract

Highlights: [•] Homocysteic acid (HCA) induces neurotoxicity in dose- and time-dependent manners. [•] HCA decreases the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax, but in a Caspase-3-independent way. [•] HCA induces oxidative stress and decreased the levels of the Nrf2 and HO-1. [•] The toxicity of HCA is attenuated by SP600125. [•] HCA increases the levels of p-c-Jun and p-JNK.
