Big Data Analysis Takes a Big Bite Out of HPC Workloads: IDC.

The article reports on a research from market research firm International Data Corp. (IDC), the 2013 Worldwide Study of EPC End-User Sites, which reveals the analysis performed by high-performance computing (HPC) sites of big data as part of their HPC workloads. The research further demonstrates the growth of the demand for co-processors and accelerators. The increase of the percentage of HPC sites using cloud computing to handle part of the HPC workloads is also noted.
