Abstract

The article offers the author's insights on the adoption of Common Core Standards across the U.S. The author elaborates four major realities on the use of the standards in children's education including the differences of children's abilities, goals and talents, and the role of the federal government to impose it in states like Washington. Moreover, the author relates the empirical research on the effect and outcome of adopting national standards.
