Abstract

Highlights: [•] GlyT2 inhibition potently reduced spontaneous action potential firing activity in the spinal ventral horn. [•] The efficacy of GlyT2 inhibition to depress network activity of ventral horn neurons reached approximately 90%. [•] GlyT2 inhibition by ALX 1393 induced a strychnine-sensitive glycinergic tonic current. [•] Silencing neuronal action potential activity by GlyT2 inhibition might be a novel principle to inhibit locomotor circuits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
