The "Risk Based Inspection" technology API RP 581 provides, since September 2008 edition, a specific module for the heat exchanger - tube bundle maintenance planning. These components generally require lower maintenance intervals than those for inspections aimed at the detection of damage that can result in loss of tube wall integrity. This document describes the procedure laid down in API document for the maintenance time-intervals management of the heat exchanger tube bundles, highlighting the problems for industrial and extensive applications.
