Abstract

The article reports that Japan moves its greenhouse gas emissions target, stating that it was affected by the shutdown of its nuclear power plants in the wake of the Fukushima disaster. Environment minister Nobuteru Ishihara says that the new target do not consider the potential impact of nuclear power plants. It mentions that the country is the fifth-largest emitter of carbon dioxide worldwide in 2011.
