Abstract

Describes the technology used in sound-driven refrigerators, which uses sound energy blasted into a kind of organ pipe to achieve cooling. Developers say such thermoacoustic devices could chill nitrogen to its liquefaction temperature of minus 320 degrees Fahrenheit, or cool the air in a room or car by only a few degrees. No ozone-destroying chemicals; Efficiency.
