Abstract: The article discusses the resolution of a 44-year legal fight for back pay by former employees at railroad Penn Central Transportation Corp. The workers alleged that their dismissal following the 1968 merger between the New York Central Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad that created Penn Central violated a job-protection pact. The plaintiffs, who originally sought $564,820, had a $14.7 million arbitration award upheld in 2013.
