Abstract

Highlights: [•] Development of an electrochemical method to prepare catalyst of Pt nanoparticles supported on MWCNTs (Pt/MWCNTs). [•] The surface structure of the Pt/MWCNTs were characterized by high-magnification TEM and COad stripping analysis. [•] The high catalytic activity and stability of the Pt/MWCNTs are attributed to high density of step atoms on Pt nanoparticles’ surface.
