Maintenance in CLL.

The author comments on the outcomes of a phase 2 clinical trial assessing the rituximab therapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients following treatment with rituximab, fludarabine, cyclophosphamide, and mitoxantrone (R-FCM). The author states that advance studies are required to qualify the benefits of rituximab and other agents in maintenance therapy. He mentions that there are more efficient drugs with low toxicities must be chosen for future studies.
